Severn Planner vs other student planner apps

Most student planners keep a list of what's due. Deciding when to actually do the work is still up to you. Severn Planner handles that part: it pulls in your assignments and grades from school, looks at the time you really have, and books study sessions into it. It's free, it has no ads, and it doesn't use AI.

Severn Planner vs MyStudyLife

MyStudyLife keeps a timetable and a homework list. Its newest planning feature is Scout, an AI study coach, and its paid plan, MyStudyLife+, costs $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year. Severn Planner plans your week without AI or a paid plan, and it syncs from Schoology, Google Classroom and Blackbaud as well as Canvas.

Severn Planner vs myHomework

myHomework is a simple homework list, and the free version shows ads. It doesn't track grades or plan when to study, and it only pulls in work from teachers who use Teachers.io. Severn Planner builds the list from your school, adds your grades and turns it into a schedule.

Severn Planner vs Shovel

Shovel is the closest to Severn Planner. It also estimates how long work takes and blocks out study time, but it costs $9.79 a month or $39 a year after a 7-day trial. Severn Planner is free, bases its time estimates on how long your own work has taken, and adds a grade predictor, a GPA goal, Exam mode and personal goals.

Severn Planner vs Power Planner

Power Planner tracks homework and GPA, but you type in every assignment yourself, and it reminds you about them rather than planning them. Severn Planner brings your assignments and grades in from school and schedules time to do them.

Severn Planner vs Motion

Motion is an AI calendar built mainly for work teams. It has no free plan and doesn't know about your classes or grades. Severn Planner schedules automatically too, but it works from your real assignments and grades.

Severn Planner vs Notion

Notion can become a planner if you build or download a template. It won't pull in your assignments or plan when to do them. Severn Planner starts working as soon as you connect your school.

Severn Planner vs Google Calendar

Google Calendar shows Google Classroom deadlines, but not the study time you need before them. Severn Planner reads your connected calendars and fits study sessions around your events, so you can keep using both.

Questions

Does Severn Planner use AI?

No. Plans come from fixed rules based on due dates, time estimates from your own past work, and your free time. Your schoolwork is never sent to an AI model.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Open the web app in your phone's browser. There's also a free Mac app with a menu bar study timer, widgets and quick add.

How does school sync work?

Install the free Severn Planner Overlay extension in Chrome on a computer, then sign in to your school as usual. Your assignments and grades sync in, and Planner never sees your school password.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every feature is free for students. There are no ads and there's no paid tier.
